NATURAL RESOURCES ASSESSMENT, INC.
Balancing environments

Commitment to Excellence
What we do we do well
Natural Resources Assessment, Inc. (NRAI) was established in 2000 as a small firm specializing in biological servicesrequired by our clients for compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations. CEQA and NEPA require local, state and federal government agencies to address impacts to biological resources as part of the environmental process for development.

The essential component of all our work is the biological assessment. It is this document that defines and identifies the project, biological resources, and issues. Natural Resources Assessment, Inc. is experienced in preparing these documents for a variety of clients and projects, including residential development, commercial centers, telecommunications, mining operations and flood control improvement projects.

Impact analysis and mitigation are crucial to the completion of a successful document and an approved project. Working with our clients and the resource agencies, our goal is to ensure that impacts are minimized and adequate mitigation measures are developed that address all sides of the issues. Mitigation measures can include relocation work, plant community implementation designs and habitat conservation plans..

We work with our clients to obtain 1600, 404, and 401 permitting and approval processes. We provide our clients with the documentation needed for Section 10a, Section 7 and Section 2081 permits. Our work requires coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Coastal Commission, Army Corps of Engineers and local Regional Water Quality Control Boards.

Monitoring is an important task that requires knowledge of the resources as well as understanding agency concerns and meeting project schedules. We work closely with our clients to ensure that their project proceeds without delays and the biological resources are protected. Natural Resources Assessment, Inc. believes that the goal of monitoring is to avoid problems and minimize damage to the environment.

Sensitive resources surveys require specialized knowledge and understanding of resource characteristics. We provide our clients with professionals experienced in a number of sensitive resources. Many of these resources are protected under just state and federal regulations, as well as local and regional protection statutes. Our work with sensitive resources requires a working knowledge of such local regulations, ordinances and laws, including various Habitat Conservation Plans.
